Gundam Card Game Launches This Summer: Decks, Boosters & Minis!
Gundam Card Game Launch Details Revealed: Four Starter Decks and Booster Set Incoming
Exciting news for Gundam and trading card game fans! The Gundam Card Game officially launches this July, introducing players to an epic TCG experience rooted in the beloved Gundam universe. The game will kick off with four starter decks and a booster set called Newtype Rising, each packed with iconic mechs from various Gundam series.
Starter Decks Overview
Each of the four starter decks is themed around a different Gundam series, offering something unique for fans:
Heroic Beginnings: Featuring mechs from the classic Mobile Suit Gundam.
Wings of Advance: Showcasing Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.
Zeon’s Rush: Focused on the Zaku suits from the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
Seed Strike: Packed with mechs from Mobile Suit Gundam Seed.
The accompanying booster set, Newtype Rising, expands the game even further with cards from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, giving players even more options for deck-building.
Gameplay Mechanics
The Gundam Card Game brings fresh strategy while taking inspiration from other successful Bandai TCGs like the One Piece card game. Players build 50-card decks using up to two different colors of cards. Each player has a separate resource deck to manage and add to their recurring resource pool each turn.
Every card comes with a resource cost and a level requirement. For instance, a Level 4 card might cost only 2 resources, but you can’t play it until you have four or more resources in your pool. This makes timing and resource management crucial for victory.
Cross-Promotion with Gundam Assemble Miniatures
In a move sure to excite collectors, Bandai announced that players can use Gundam Assemble miniatures as tokens on their cards. While this offers no in-game advantage, it’s a fun way to bring the action to life. Each starter deck comes with a unique mini:
Heroic Beginnings: RX-78-2 Gundam
Wings of Advance: OZ-00MS Tallgeese
Zeon’s Rush: MS-06S Zaku II Commander Type
Seed Strike: GAT-X105 Strike Gundam
With the game launching this summer, Gundam fans have a lot to look forward to—strategic gameplay, stunning artwork, and a chance to bring their favorite mechs into battle. Whether you’re a TCG enthusiast or a long-time Gundam follower, this release is shaping up to be a must-try.
Stay tuned for more updates and start prepping your decks for battle!
